In a first for South African
Fashion, African Fashion International (AFI) has partnered with SA
Tourism to develop tourism through fashion. Fashion Tourism forms one of
four key pillars identified by AFI that will be the drivers of Cape
Town Fashion Week,
With the support of the Cape Town Fashion Council, SA Tourism and the Cape Town Tourism, AFI have invited selected design powerhouses to present their Autumn / Winter 2012 collections at various iconic venues around the city.
AFI’s point of distinction is the fact that designers are selected through a strict curatorial process and invited to show, versus designers’ having to pay for participation.
This year’s CTFW line-up of local designers include; Thula Sindi, Stefania Morland, Leigh Schubert, Abigail Betz ,Gavin Rajah and David Tlale, who will present their unique interpretations of the upcoming season’s hottest trends.
Other designers invited to showcase their collections include: Daniella Margaux, Doreen Southwood, Habits, Undacova, Dax Martin, Lisp, Nucleus, Lalesso, Tart, Michelle Ludek, House of Monatic and Fabiani.

pretend she has a different personality.

What to Wear in Your First Job?
Q: Please help! I just graduated from college and I got a job in a small financial services firm. One of the partners sometimes wear suits and skirts, but the other is always wearing shorts. I don’t want to dress like I’m 50-plus. Could you give me some help in picking out what would be appropriate for work?
A: Starting with your first job, you always want to make a good impression. Your bosses, colleagues, and the type of work you do should indicate what is appropriate. Wearing shorts to the office may be stretching it a bit. If your job is visible to outside clients, best to keep your attire professional yet
comfortable.
Stick to classic pieces and solid colors like black, white, reds, and
navy, accented with great understated jewelry. That way your work
wardrobe is versatile and there’s no guessing what to wear every
morning. Definitely invest in a great suit when the occasion requires
it. You don’t have to look older, as long as you choose separates that
fit your body type: three-quarter sleeve tops, A-line skirts, stretch
poplin blouses, even nautical stripes for casual Fridays in the summer
are quite acceptable.
